Would this be ok for pc protection?

Hey what do you think of there programs to protect my computer, have i missed anything out ?



avira antivirus



kerio firewall



and



spybot seach and destroy

That's pretty decent protection but you also need way to make sure that all your software is 100% patched and updated.



Most (not all) malware will try and attack known vulnerabilties in your Windows and your other installed software. Software vendor's updates plug these security holes. If you do encounter one of these type of malwares, if your software is patched, the malware can try all day long but it still won't be able to infect!



There is a little online security tool called The Secunia Software Inspector, that scans a computer for un-secure, un-updated and un-patched apps that may be installed on your computer.



The Secunia Software Inspector checks for possibly vulnerable programs like Adobe, Winamp, Java, Windows, Internet Explorer etc. and notifies if critical security updates are needed. Takes about 30 seconds and the results might suprise you!



Will work using IE, Opera or Firefox.
