Is it a virus?

My computer has been crashing for a week now. Suddenly it just reobots, after that the computer is completely wiped clean. No programs, nothing. I ran several different antivirus, started with virgin pc guard, avg, mcaffe. No virus detected. I did system restore, several times, from the back up disks, and it goes for a couple of days, than crashes again, and wipes it clean. Can anyone help pls?

it is not a virus.

it refers to your motherboard default.

setup with a new hard disk ang restore the system settings.
It's your hard drive, time to replace.
Never heard of this probelm before but i will try to help.

First of all you should try boot up in safe mode and try another virus scan. In safe mode only the essential features of windows start up meaning if it is a virus it won't start up. Do a virus scan, i suggest getting nodd32 as it picks up most things, just download the trial version.

If you can't boot up in safe mode and need to access the files on your computer then try using a linux live cd, this will always work unless it is a hardware problem. I suggest using ubuntu. Instead of downloading it they will ship you a free cd with it on it. (No catch)
