Weird conflcit between Firefox & Musicmatch?

About once a day, I will be browsing the Internet using Firefox when suddenly a combination of key strokes will start Musicmatch. I use Musicmatch to rip and burn musid CDs.

This never happens when I am using Internet Explorer and I have never experienced it with any other program.

And yes, my antivirus software is updated regularly and I run scans with Adaware and Microsoft Antispyware on a weekly basis.

It sounds like some global keystrokes are enabled check for any software that might be lauching this for you. First check musicmatch for this setting then maybe an extension in firefox. Then check for other software that may allow for keystrokes to launch applications.

yes usually it happens in firefox and you should uninstall and then reinstall the firefox, and u can upgrade firefox plugins and upgrade the firefox.and see some tools or keystroke options under firefox and musicmatch

Laptop freezing please help ???

I have intel Pentium 4 laptop with window XP home edition. For some reasons its keep on freezing. Sometimes it freezes in the beginning on welcome screen , sometimes it open so nicely and freezes when I try to open any new program. I have Norton antivirus 2005. i cant even hear fan sound from this system. Is there any way I can check fan speed or its operation without opening my computer. Any suggestion ???

Make sure you have all the patches for your games, as well as all MS updates, patches and hotfixes.

Crashes/freezes could be due to several reasons, including hardware issues. Does it run ok in safe mode?

Check these:

1. Overheating(Open the case and check to see how much dust has collected inside it, and if there is a lot of dust get a can of compressed air and blow the dust out and clean out all dust bunnies, etc. on the heatsink/;fan combo,etc.; and be sure all the fans are spinning and properly functioning )

2. Poor power supply (weak power supply or noisey / dirty electricity)

3. Bad driver or drivers not updated, or a device conflict. Pull the connectors and push them back on. Reseat all of the cards.

How do I shut off my firewall TEMPORARILIY?

When I was trying to open up Maplestory, an online game that uses gameguard as a hackprevent system, powered by Nexon, it stopped loading GameGuard as it usually does before opening. A dialogue box appeared and said, ''An error has occured during the update. Please try temporarily disabling the VirusVaccine, or change the system option, if you are using the PC-maintenence program.'' I have norton antivirus, and i temporarily diabled autoprotect, and internet worm protection, but the same error occured. I checked my system option, but there's nothing to do with security. I added Maplestory as an exception with my firewall, but that didn't work either. And for those that play maplestory, yes, i already tried deleting evreything in the gameguard folder, but that didn't work either. I also tried uninstalling maplestory, then reinstalling it, but the same error occured. Now my only option is to turn of my firewall, but i don't know how. When i got there, it said it was ctrled by another group

VIRUS ALERT!!!! please help for my computers sake!!!!!?

ok, on saturday, march 3rd, i was browsing the internet, i was watching a ''video'' and it said that it was not compatible with Windows Media Player, i should have been suspicious then, but i downloaded it anyway.

next thing i know the little bar in the lower right corner starts giving warning signals that say things like

''Sytem Alert! Malware has been detected!''

''High Risk!: Trojan Horse virus detected!''

Please, please tell me how i can get rid of this, i have tried everything, and no, i was stupid enough to not have a anti-virus program, except for Norton Antivirus, please, i need emergency help in getting rid of this!! please, i have learned my error in going to those ''videos'' and i need some really bad help in fixing my computer, i do not want to send it in for repairs unless i have to.

That sounds nasty indeed. Ok, there's a few things you can try out here :

1. Try to restore your PC to an earlier time (2nd March) using System Restore.

2. Get NOD32, install it, run your PC in Safe Mode and run an in-depth analysis from NOD32. It's the best antivirus software out there. (and get rid of that Norton crap !!).
