Installing windows XP service pack 2?

ok, I've downloaded windows xp service pack 2 from microsft update and now I just need to click ''i accept'' on the license terms and install it. is there anything i need to do before installing (ie, back up files, shut down antivirus) and after installing (ie, reinistall my programs, internet, adobe, flash, etc)? Also, are there any problems that may come up?

anything you need to do will be told to you before you can proceed. shutting down non-essential programs from the desktop is good but anti vrus and firewall work in the background and should be on all the time. especially if xp2 reqires web interaction while installing.

Back up the files as you normally do, and just install the patch.
Make sure you save all your data. Mainly the pics, docs, and music/movies are most important. Be certain to also back up the setups to important programs and the drivers if you're running a laptop aswell save the XP on another drive or computer, in any case you lose it for the future.

If you're running on a desktop, make sure to find all your CD's to later reinstall the audio/video drivers, and other graphic cards, and so on.
