What's wrong with my computer?? Please help me.?

I have a Hewlet Packard computer that I bought in the fall of 2003. Last week almost all the music in my shared music folder disappeared. When I looked at the properties of the shared music folder it said that it still contains all the files and folders (4.23 GB), but the subfolders contained were empty except for two files. All the files that appeared with the windows media player icon were gone, and the two files that I found appeared as winamp files. After I ran a search for music files the other day 2 folders worth of music reappeared. Also, any text that I enter in internet text boxes or in word processing programs is stuck in italics. I tried to install McAfee Antivirus 2007 but I got a message box that said there were errors preventing a full install. What's going on with my computer and what steps should I take?

What's wrong with my computer?? Please help me.?ducati

try downloading these free shareware programs and run them.

if you can't download - try doing it on a friend's computer- but choose save to disk rather than open or run. then copy them to a CD and run them on your computer from the CD drive.

should solve the problem.

1. ccleaner

2. avg anti virus

3. ad-aware 2007

all the programs can be found at www.cnet.com under downloads

good luck !
