Can someone help me with Limewire?

Okay when I click the Limewire icon it has an error. I already found this from a website : Q: Every time I click the LimeWire icon to open it, I get the error ''LimeWire was unable to initialize and start. . .'' What does this mean?

A: Some security programs block loopback connections for all programs on your computer unless an exception has been created within the security program. If you are running Norton Antivirus, look for the Internet Worm Protection feature, and add LimeWire to the list of exceptions in that section.

But my Norton Antivirus wont run and I have no idea what a Worm Protection is... Can Someone please tell me what to do??

#1 Right click on the Norton anti-virus icon in the systray and click ''Norton anti-virus Options''.

#2 Within the Norton anti-virus Options click the ''Internet Worm Protection''.

#3 Add LimeWire to the list.

Maybe after #2 you need to click ''Program Control'' and then add LimeWire.

uninstall it. By doing that, you might have to download the uninstall program from them. Some security programs can't be uninstalled from Add/Remove program, they have special program to remove them.

check in program files and look for the folder that is for the program you are trying to uninstall and uninstallit from there.
go to find file aand then when it comes up delete it

I currently have a Norton Antivirus Trial that came with my computer and the trial is about to end in 2 weeks.

I was wondering if there are any free programs that are similar to Norton Antivirus.

I am sorry you installed Norton anti-virus, it is the worst anti-virus application you can get and is almost impossible to completely remove. Make sure you download their removal tool. The best anti-virus available is Kaspersky or NOD32 (recent tests at av-comparatives.org).

AVG is probably your best option, http://free.grisoft.com/ there are others... but AVG is very light on resources.
I have 13 computers. 11 use AVG free, and the other 2 use Avast. All are Dell GX1 450 or 500 mhz P-III with 512MB of RAM W2k sp4. RAM is cheap.

There are four very good freeware AV program on the market. If you need more bell and whiltses try their suscription version. See the link below for the list of AV as will as antispyware and firewall programs. They are all freeware.

In the service, my computer was put AVG anti-Virus and Spyware Dorctor. The Anti viru program seems to work ok, but I have just noticed that Spyware does not work at all and that it requires update which goes with payment. Beside my computer is infected and now I am really worried.
