Help! Computer problem.?

My computer is really slow and I read some of the old questions already on here and found some answers. I have up to date adware and antivirus software so assumed it was all the programs starting up when i log in. So I went to START - RUN typing MSCONFIG then selective startup. I only deselected messangers and realplayer, already deselected were other antivirus software, taken off i assume when the computer engineer i know installed new ones when fixing my comp. When i rebooted the computer and logged in this came up '' Error loading c:\windows\system32\fgsywjui.dll ''

Another box appeared saying that i had selected selective startup and that i should go back and click normal. I have done this and the Error box is still showing. Problem also is that it has enabled the other antivirus's which i know is a problem and you should only use one. Help! Last time the Error message came up i had to get it fixed.

i have three hard disk drives in my comp.say e,f,d

suppose i installed AVG(antivirus) in e drive

now will the antivirus work for other drives as well i.e d,f drives........ or i should install the antivirus in the main drive where all the programs are installed

You only need it installed on one of the drives. All three drives will be scanned if you install the program with its default settings.

What you are reffering to as 3 hard disk drives are partions on your main hard drive, if this is the case then install antivirus in any of your partions and AVG will automatically include all the partions while checking for viruses . If you really have 3 hard disks then you need not install antivirus in all 3 drives just check the physical storage devices you wish to include in '' scanner - manual selection '' option and AVG will check all drives for viruses.
id say put it on the primary one, as long as the other drives have an OS then it doesn't matter where you put AVG, as long as you can select which drives you want to scan.

i have a P-III celeron 800Mhz processor with 384MB of RAM when i am not conected to the DSL my system runs fast but once i connect to DSL my PC slows down. i have minimal programs running like msn messenger and NOD32 antivirus(updated) but still when i connect to the internet my computer slows down please tell me how can i fix this problem?

Try to cut down the unnecessary background processes which maybe consuming ur memory... 384 MB ram is insufficient compared to the graphical messengers and advanced softwares which we use nowadays...

also check ur pc regularly for spywares...

u can check the running background processes by pressing the cntrl+alt+del buttons..

when i start up my computer and do stuff.. my system idol process always 98% is switching from 0% to 98..100...i have barely anything on here. anyone know any programs that will help me? i got antivirus..anti spam...all that stuff. what can i do to help it?

Open limewire, go to tools%26gt;options%26gt;advance%26gt;firewall option and untick ''System Startup -'' i.e. to start when windows start.

Reboot and then try to uninstall from ''add/remove program''.

If it fails, it is serious problem. Did you downloading software from untrusted source instead of limewire website. If it was, the program you have install may contain virus, spyware, backdoor etc.

MAYBE TRY SYSTEM RESTORE.........
It could still be running in the background as a hidden process. Try going to your task manager (ctrl - alt - delete) and find a process that looks unfamilular to you. Use common sense, and look for letters that would look abnormal. Like lmwr.exe, lw.exe, etc...

it's in use because someone else is downloading the partial file on your computer -- kill the uploader process in the upload tab and then try to delete it

A Couple of weeks ago, I tried to click the Symantec Antivirus, and I guess it uninstalled itself and when I clicked it, It started to download, but never finished because it kept saying I need a CD-ROM (which I never posessed) and i'd cancel. so ever since then I'd keep getting these Symantec pop-up downloads everytime i'd right click something. So I finally was fed up and removed Symantec Antivirus From My Computer (by Add or Remove Programs) and now my internet is slower and everytime the computer is turned on i get this message''

please be specific. dont just say downloading things........what things? what makes it gets messed up? which sites? which programs? what do u think of norton antivirus (i had asked a question about norton earlier please answer if u can)? this is my 4th time buying a computer. the other ones got messed up and i dont want this one to get messed up so please tell me.

First, everything can be fixed, do not just go a buy a new computer. Every virus can be undone. no matter what you can fix it. Going to sites that are geared toward sexual nature, free download sites (like limewire) can cause problems with viruses and spyware. Just clean your computer once a month and you should be fine.

I do not like norton personally but to each his own.

I can't imagine ruining four computers. You can always run your restore disk to fix it if it is completely messed up. Adware and spyware are on so many sites its almost impossible to avoid. I would suggest getting a good virus protection software, a good firewall and yahoo has a good popup blocker on their toolbar you can download. To get rid of spyware I have a good free program you can download from the below site. You need to take care of your computer, its pretty defenseless without your help.
